Longboards

We build a lot of longboards and have a large range of designs.

We cannot feature them all here, but some of the most popular designs are shown below.

One of the models will be featured. We will update this as new ones are created.

Longboard Models

"The Dreamliner"

This design represents our most popular longboard. We make a lot of these, and they are super fun.

The goal of this design was to create a longboard that was optimized for a quad-fin layout. The tail is pulled in a lot to achieve the best possible layout, allowing the back fins to be placed close to the rail. This outline also puts a lot of curve in the tail, making it easy to turn.

We feel this design meets all of its design criteria. It turns on a dime, paddles well, and is fast and smooth. The modern bottom design further enhances performance, giving this board high-performance characteristics.

As with most of our designs these days, the wide point of this design is behind the center. We have proven this makes a huge difference in the overall handling of the board. We are making it easier to catch waves and a lot easier to turn.

The nose was kept relatively narrow to enhance performance, but they still noseride well.

"The Islander"

This is a relatively new design along the lines of a more traditional longboard. It features a thumbtail as a compromise between a squaretail and a squashtail.

As with most of our longboards, the wide point is back of the center to add more curve in the cockpit. Moving the wide point back also facilitates the wave-catching abilities of the board.

The bottom features a single concave from the nose through the front two-thirds of the board. Then, it transitions into a double concave with a vee out the tail. Versions of the board that are strictly single fin have a vee through the tail with no double concave.

Volume is evenly distributed throughout the board, with the bulk concentrated in the center. This is geared towards enhancing the paddling power. Rocker is typical of a modern longboard with a progressive kick in the tail.

Rail features a strong tucked edge around the entire perimeter of the board. Hard edge around the tail. Beveled nose for increased pearling safety.

The fins are set as a quad, 2PLUS1, or single fin.

"The Highliner"

The Highliner is a new design derived from the Dreamliner, and it is a longer board with a wide point, much further back than usual. This one has the wide point 5" back from the center.

Moving the wide point further back, we keep the cockpit underneath the surfer, even with the increased length of the board. The version shown is 9' 5" long.

The nose is more rounded, and the tail is closer to a round tail than a rounded pintail, although we are still calling this a rounded pintail.

The bottom design is the same as the Dreamliner, with a single concave running through a double concave to vee in the tail. Rocker is normal for this board style but increases in the tail behind the fins.

The thickness is 3 1/4" to increase floatation and make catching waves easier. Volume is focused around the cockpit to enhance paddling.

The board is set up as a quad for high performance.

The nose was kept relatively narrow to enhance performance, but they still ride well.

The bottom design is our standard for this type of board: concave through the nose rocker area, single concave through the center of the board, flowing into a deep bowled double barrel concave through the fin area, and finally into a vee out through the tail. This bottom shape balances power and user-friendliness, making the board much easier to surf. The bowled concave makes rail-to-rail transitions simple and smooth, requiring little effort and adding a lot of squirt, meaning speed! This bottom has been optimized to work with our quad fin layout as well, the goal being to better direct the water flow to the fins!

The rocker is relatively flat through the nose and relaxed through the center of the board, accelerating out the tail.

This design is set up as a quad for its versatility, speed, and holding power. The GEARBOX fin system is used as it is light and strong and is installed under the glass.

Everyone who owns one of these boards finds them easy to handle, effortless to surf, and extremely versatile. They can handle a wide range of surf, even up to double overhead, without any trouble. This is largely due to the tail shape and the quad-fin layout.
