Fishes

Fishes have long been a staple of our board-building operation.

The demand for them waxes and wanes, but they are always popular with surfers looking for something more twitchy. Most modern fishes we make are now set up as quads instead of the more normal keel fins.

The featured design uses the fairly classic fish outline but with a much more modern bottom and the quad fin setup, which adds another level of performance to this type of board.

COMMENTS

The fish design has always been about fun and performance, and this design focuses on those aspects. It is along the traditional lines but with more curve and a wide point, a bit further back than normal.

It features a very simple bottom geared towards speed with a single concave running into a single channel through the tail for speed.

There is also more rocker than normal for a fish to focus more on the board's turning ability. Normally fishes are very flat, which makes them fast, but they typically don't turn very well. This design turns on a dime.

Using a quad fin setup instead of the typical twin fin or keel fin approach also enhances this board's turning abilities. The fin cluster is tight, so it works a lot more like a twin fin in keeping with the style of these boards.
